Make your own shoes! PLUS: A Pom-pom tutorial

I am so excited to tell you about my latest #SewHappyColor collaboration with A Happy Stitch!! I am the first in a new series she is doing, called “The Artist Series.” I have created a step-by-step instruction PDF and a couple videos to help guide you through making your own painted shoes.

These were very satisfying to paint and then sew up. I made the design something that would be achievable by anyone who follows the instruction, so don’t be intimidated! When you wear them you’ll be able to tell people “I made everything but the sole!” They are also available in a wedge style.

And don’t forget to check out the blog post about them here!

Now, lets get to the pom-pom tutorial! I just saw some other fun ones pop up recently, but since I already took all the photos for this a month ago, I’m gonna stick them on here anyway;)

I used a clover pom-pom maker that I’ve had for years!

Super fun right?!? I stuck with an analogous color scheme for these shoes, and if you want to know more about what that means, head to my INSTAGRAM page and check the highlights for “Sew Happy Color Schemes”
